Walking into EBO Hotel Zijin gang Asian Games Park Store Zhejiang university, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone — it’s quite a mouthful. But you know what? The lobby immediately put me at ease with its clean, modern design that feels distinctly Chinese without being over the top. The staff greeted me in both Mandarin and English, which I appreciated since my Chinese is pretty rusty. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Hangzhou, and from the moment you arrive, you can sense why couples are rating the location so highly.

Location & Neighborhood

The hotel’s position on Gudun Road is actually brilliant — you’re practically next door to Xixi Wetland Park, which means you can escape the city buzz whenever you want. I mean, how many hotels let you walk to one of China’s most famous wetlands in just a few minutes? The proximity to Zhejiang University also means the area has that vibrant, youthful energy without being too chaotic. There’s free parking available, which honestly saved me a headache since finding spots in Hangzhou can be tricky.

The Room Experience

My room was surprisingly spacious for a mid-range hotel in this part of the city. The design strikes this nice balance between contemporary comfort and subtle Asian touches — think clean lines with warm wood accents rather than anything too flashy. The bed was firm (which I prefer), and the bathroom actually had decent water pressure, something you can’t always count on. What really impressed me was how quiet it stayed despite being on a fairly busy road — the windows must have good soundproofing.

Dining & Amenities

Breakfast here offers both Continental and Asian options, and I’ll be honest — I kept gravitating toward the Asian selections. The congee was particularly good, and they had this selection of pickled vegetables that perfectly complemented everything else. The Continental spread was solid too, though nothing groundbreaking. The hotel doesn’t have a full-service restaurant for dinner, but given the neighborhood’s dining scene, that’s hardly a problem. You’re surrounded by local eateries that’ll give you a much more authentic taste of Hangzhou anyway.

Why Guests Love It

After spending a few days here, I completely understand why couples are giving this place such high marks for location. You’re close enough to West Lake to make easy day trips, but far enough from the tourist crowds to actually relax in the evenings. The Xixi Wetland Park becomes your backyard, which is pretty special when you think about it. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience — they helped me figure out the best route to the tea plantations and even called ahead to confirm opening times. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in town, but it delivers exactly what most travelers actually need: comfort, cleanliness, and a great base for exploring Hangzhou.

  The buffet breakfast at only 24 CNY per person is really good. All the staff are truly exceptional, very helpful, friendly and go all out to help. Special mention goes to the staff 彩虹( who serve breakfast buffet) though I must say every staff deserve a huge applause. Room, bed and toilet all very comfortable and clean. Hotel is also a mere 3 minute walk to the nearest MRT. Overall a great hotel and real value for money.
