Walking into DoubleTree by Hilton Hangzhou East, you’re immediately struck by how polished everything feels without being stuffy. The lobby has that modern Hilton vibe — clean lines, warm lighting, and staff who actually seem happy to see you. The whole place feels like it was designed with business travelers in mind, but there’s something welcoming about it that works just as well if you’re here exploring the city.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about this spot — it’s in Jianggan district, which puts you right in Hangzhou’s newer business area without feeling disconnected from everything else. You’re actually pretty close to the Qiantang River, and the metro connections are solid if you want to get to West Lake or the old town areas. The Jin Sha Avenue location means you’ve got shopping and dining options within walking distance, plus — and this matters if you’re driving — parking here is way less stressful than trying to navigate the older parts of the city.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a four-star Hilton property — spacious, well-appointed, and designed for comfort. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel marketing speak), and the bathrooms are modern with good water pressure. What I appreciated most was the workspace setup — if you need to get some work done, there’s actually enough surface area and proper lighting. The city views from the upper floors are pretty decent too, especially if you catch the sunset over the river.

Dining & Amenities

The hotel restaurant serves a mix of international and local dishes, and while it’s not going to blow your mind, the breakfast buffet is solid with both Western and Chinese options. You know what’s nice? They actually have real coffee, not just instant stuff. There’s also a fitness center that’s well-equipped enough for a proper workout, and the business facilities are genuinely useful if you need to print boarding passes or handle work stuff.

Honestly, this place just works.   Location is ideal – the shopping centre across the road is handy for restaurants and anything that you have forgotten. Right next to the metro station too.
  
  What could be improved: The breakfast is disappointing – as a vegetarian there is little for me to eat and the coffee is terrible.
  There is now only one member of staff operating the lounge bar and the cafe – this isn't ideal.
  The piano in the lounge bar needs fixing – it is automated and has a fault – the 'music' coming out of it is annoying beyond belief.

  Excellent: from help desk staff to the food, the facilities… Beautiful big swimming pool, pool tables available, breakfast with both Western and Chinese food options, pastries, waffles made on the spot… A gem in Xiasha! Also got a late 3pm checkout. I will return!
