You’re close enough to the city center that a taxi ride won’t break the bank, but far enough out that you get a sense of how locals actually live. The five-star property offers parking right on-site, which — trust me — is a huge deal in this city where finding a spot can be a nightmare. Couples seem to really appreciate the quieter neighborhood vibe, and I can see why.

The Room Experience

My room was spacious by Chinese hotel standards, with floor-to-ceiling windows that offered views of the surrounding district. The bed was actually comfortable (not always a given), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that makes you want to stay in longer than you should. What impressed me most was the attention to detail — quality linens, a well-stocked minibar, and blackout curtains that actually block out the city lights. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which honestly can make or break a stay during Hangzhou’s humid summers.

Dining & Amenities

The hotel’s restaurant serves a mix of Cantonese and local Zhejiang cuisine, and while it’s not groundbreaking, the quality is solid. I particularly enjoyed their take on West Lake fish, which felt authentic rather than dumbed down for international palates. The luxury touches are there without being ostentatious — think marble accents, quality furnishings, and service that anticipates your needs without hovering. There’s also a small fitness center that’s well-equipped enough for a decent workout.

Why Guests Love It

This place strikes that sweet spot between luxury and livability. You’re getting genuine five-star service and amenities, but in a setting that feels more residential than resort-like. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you consider the combination of solid fundamentals — comfortable beds, reliable WiFi, excellent service — with those little extras that make a stay memorable. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having a sophisticated base that’s slightly removed from the tourist crowds. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax and feel like you’re experiencing Hangzhou rather than just passing through it.

  Das Personal an der Rezeption und im hauseigenen Restaurant war sehr freundlich. Die Managerin des Empfangs hat uns geholfen unseren im Taxi verbliebenen Computer zurück zu bekommen.
  Am Abreisetag wurde uns vom Hotel ein kostenloser Transfer zum Bahnhof arrangiert.
  Die Zimmer des erst drei Jahre alten Hotels sind sehr komfortabel eingerichtet.
  
  What could be improved: Das Hotel liegt etwa 30 Minuten Autofahrt außerhalb des Zentrums. Die Nutzung von Taxis ist zwingend aber bei den moderaten Preisen unproblematisch.
