The beds are firm in that distinctly Chinese way, which took me a night to adjust to, but I slept well once I did. Air conditioning works perfectly, which you’ll definitely need during Hangzhou’s humid summers.

Local Flavors and Daily Rhythms

There’s no fancy restaurant on-site, but that’s actually part of the charm — you’re pushed to explore the incredible local food scene right outside your door. I discovered this tiny noodle shop about two blocks away that serves the most incredible xiaolongbao for breakfast, and there’s a night market within walking distance where you can try proper Hangzhou-style street food. The villa’s staff gave me handwritten directions (in English!) to their favorite spots, which felt genuinely helpful rather than rehearsed.

  After my business trip, I decided to stay in HANGZHOU one more night. I chose this villa by accident. It was on the quieter hillside of west lake which made peaceful morning. Room was cozy and spacous. I really enjoyed it.
  Don't miss to take a cup of coffee at coffee shop DOMO. Such nice place I will be back soon.

  **Lovely Stay at Youshan!**
  Our room at Youshan was spotless, stylish, and the bed very comfy. The host was attentive, offering great local tips. Location is ideal: quiet yet a quick 10-min walk to town. Small bathroom but well-equipped. No breakfast or bathtub, but excellent value. We’d happily return! Highly recommend.
