Hilton Garden Inn Hangzhou Xixi Zijingang Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hilton Garden Inn Hangzhou Xixi Zijingang, you immediately get that reliable Hilton Garden Inn vibe — clean, modern, and refreshingly straightforward. The lobby has this crisp, business-friendly atmosphere that somehow doesn’t feel sterile, which honestly surprised me given how many cookie-cutter hotels you find in this part of Hangzhou. The staff here actually seem to know what they’re doing, and check-in was smooth even during what appeared to be a busy evening rush.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Fengqing Road — it’s not exactly downtown, but that’s actually what makes it work so well. You’re in the Gongshu district, which puts you close to the Xixi Wetland Park (seriously, don’t skip this if you have time) and Zijingang campus area. The three-star rating might seem modest, but the location scores speak for themselves — couples especially seem to love it here, and I can see why. There’s something nice about being away from the tourist chaos while still having easy access to the city center via metro or taxi.
The Room Experience
My room was exactly what you’d expect from Hilton Garden Inn — functional, comfortable, and designed by someone who actually travels for work. The bed was properly firm (not that mushy hotel bed nonsense), and the workspace actually had enough outlets and decent lighting. What I really appreciated was the blackout curtains that, you know, actually blocked out light — seems basic, but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with a shower that had proper water pressure.
Breakfast & Dining
The buffet breakfast here is honestly better than it needs to be for a mid-range hotel. They’ve got the usual international options, but there’s also a decent selection of local dishes that don’t feel like afterthoughts. I mean, the congee was actually good, and they had proper Chinese pickled vegetables alongside the standard Western fare. The restaurant area gets busy around 7:30 AM, so if you’re not a morning person, either get there early or wait until after 9 when the business crowd clears out.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being part of a reliable chain with actually feeling connected to its location. The recent guests aren’t wrong about rating the location so highly — you get that sweet spot of being near interesting parts of Hangzhou without paying downtown prices or dealing with downtown crowds. The parking situation is straightforward (which, trust me, matters in this city), and the whole operation just runs smoothly. It’s the kind of place where everything works as it should, which sounds boring but is actually pretty refreshing when you’re traveling.

We are staying at the hotel for 10 days now and will stay for two more days. Initially we planned to stay for three days and move out but we decided to stay here. The staff is very helpful and caring. They try to help you seriously to make our needs fulfilled. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
What could be improved: Did not find any. If they have at least one English fluently speaking receptionist things would be very much easier for foreigners. 😎👍Exceptional – Tungalagtamir from Mongolia – 15 September 2023 (10/10)
