What couples seem to love (and I totally get why they rate it so highly) is how easy it is to explore both the modern side of Hangzhou and slip away to quieter neighborhoods. The free private parking is a real bonus if you’re planning day trips around Zhejiang Province — something you don’t always find at luxury hotels in China.

The Room Experience

My room had this sophisticated Parisian vibe with clean lines and rich fabrics that felt both luxurious and comfortable. The bed was honestly one of the best I’ve slept in — you sink into these premium linens that somehow keep you cool all night. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of either the city skyline or the Olympic Center, and the blackout curtains are a godsend if you’re dealing with jet lag. The marble bathroom feels like a private spa, complete with a soaking tub that’s perfect after a long day exploring the city.

The breakfast buffet here is something else — I’m talking about this incredible spread that combines French pastries with authentic Chinese dishes and everything in between. What I really appreciated was the breakfast-to-go option, which came in handy when I had an early flight to catch. The main restaurant serves this fusion cuisine that somehow respects both French techniques and local Hangzhou flavors without feeling forced or gimmicky. The service throughout is attentive but never intrusive, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to unwind.
