What really sold me on this place was the location in Hangzhou‘s Xihu District. You’re positioned perfectly between the famous West Lake area and the more authentic local neighborhoods — honestly, it’s one of those spots where you get the best of both worlds. The hotel sits on Wen’er West Road, which means you can actually walk to some incredible local eateries that most tourists never discover. I mean, being this close to Xixi Wetland Park is pretty fantastic too, especially if you want to escape the city buzz for a bit.

The Room Experience

The room design really impressed me — it’s what I’d call “boutique done right.” Everything feels intentional but not overdone, with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light during the day. The beds are genuinely comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), plus there’s enough space to actually unpack and settle in. You know what I appreciated most? The bathroom setup — modern fixtures, great water pressure, and they’ve managed to make even a standard four-star space feel more upscale than it probably should.

Breakfast and Dining

The breakfast buffet here is actually worth getting up for, which isn’t something I say lightly. They’ve got a solid mix of Asian options alongside some Western basics, but the local dishes are where they really shine. The congee station alone makes it worthwhile — they know how to do comfort food properly. The restaurant area has this nice, relaxed atmosphere where you can linger over coffee without feeling rushed, which I always appreciate when I’m trying to plan my day.

Why Guests Love It

There’s a reason couples rate this place so highly — it strikes that perfect balance between intimate and sophisticated without being stuffy. The parking situation is refreshingly straightforward (and free, which is rare in this part of the city), so you don’t have to stress about your car. What really sets this hotel apart though is how the staff seems to genuinely care about your experience. They’re helpful without being hovering, knowledgeable about the area, and they remember little details that make you feel like more than just another booking. It’s the kind of place where you’d actually want to return, not just because it’s nice, but because it feels like they get what travelers really need.

  I liked the location and the ambience of the hotel. It’s right next to Wetland and close to the metro. The room was very spacious. The staff is very nice and friendly.
  
  What could be improved: The buffet for breakfast was closed for two days and whilst we had the breakfast delivered to our room, it was not as good as the one in the buffet. It was cold and the quality and quantity was significantly reduced.
  The rooms were not as clean as you could expect. There were hair left in the shower from the previous occupants.

  Location is close to Xixi wetlands, walking distance, so its quite convenient for exploring.
  
  What could be improved: We arrived at the hotel. No staff was there to help unload my 4 suitcases and multiple bags. Had to load all my bags onto the cart myself. The rooms we reserved had already been given away. Was upgraded, but there was no choice as no other rooms available. Had to wait in the main lobby for more than 45 minutes with a two year child, with only four wooden chinese style chairs in the lobby. Was not offered water or anything whilst we were made to wait.
  
  Rooms only had tea. At this price basic instant coffee should be provided.
  
  Arrived after check in time. Room hadn't been cleaned. Had to wait another 45 minutes, ontop of the 45 minutes at the lobby, to wait for our room to be cleaned.
