This five-star property sits right on the edge of West Lake, and I mean literally — you can practically touch the water from some of the terraces. The lobby design strikes this perfect balance between contemporary luxury and traditional Chinese aesthetics, with silk screens and carved wooden panels that don’t feel overdone or touristy.

You know what’s brilliant about the Beishan Road location? It’s tucked away from the main tourist chaos but still puts you within walking distance of everything that matters around West Lake. I’d watch the morning tai chi practitioners from my window while sipping coffee — there’s something genuinely peaceful about starting your day that way in Hangzhou. The Broken Bridge and Bai Causeway are just a short stroll away, and honestly, having West Lake as your backyard never gets old.

The Room Experience

My room faced the lake (absolutely worth the upgrade if you can swing it), and the floor-to-ceiling windows basically turned the space into a living postcard. The marble bathroom was ridiculously spacious — I’m talking separate soaking tub with lake views while you bathe. What impressed me most was how they’d thought through the little things: USB ports exactly where you need them, blackout curtains that actually work, and bedding so comfortable I seriously considered asking where they source it.

The restaurant on the top floor serves exceptional Hangzhou cuisine — their West Lake fish in vinegar sauce is probably the best version I’ve tried in the city. But here’s a local tip: book a table around sunset because the views are absolutely stunning then. The spa treatments incorporate local tea culture in unexpected ways, and after spending a day walking around the lake temples, their signature massage was exactly what I needed. The infinity pool area feels like a private oasis, especially in the evening when it’s lit up.

  谁懂啊！本来只是想找个离西湖近点的地方住，结果进水知心居的瞬间，感觉这趟杭州行没白来！
  先说地理位置，绝对值得！就在杨公堤这边，就几步路，早上睡醒溜达过去，满鼻子都是荷花香，而且还有一个空中花园，View绝了，可以看到西湖整个景观，酒店工作人员说西湖十景能看到6景，还有杭州三件套，雷峰塔、城隍阁、保俶塔也是近在眼前。
  除此之外，房间也超级戳我！这次订的是湖映心居房 —— 一进门就是一大面落地窗，窗前就是波光粼粼的西湖，雷峰塔就在正中央，超绝。边上还有一个大浴缸，晚上泡在浴缸里，看着窗外的灯光一点点亮起来，再配上个小水果，感觉所有疲惫都没了。还有那个床垫，好像是一个智能床垫，我和小姐妹喜欢不一样，我喜欢软，她喜欢硬一点，这个可以分开调节，真的有点被惊喜到了，醒来看到窗外的景还是觉得很棒！
  早餐的种类也很全，我们点了满满一桌，一半自助，一半点单。点单的话可以选杭州的本地早餐，我们点了片儿川、葱包桧，小馄饨，都还不错！
  还有很惊喜的酒店 4 节免费体验课，不过因为时间关系，我们就去了1节，是跟着非遗大师一起做泥塑，捏了两个西湖边的鸳鸯，虽然手笨但玩得超开心。而且酒店还能租复古自行车，我们本来计划骑去苏堤绕一圈，吹吹湖风，可惜后来临时改了行程没骑成，现在想起来还觉得有点可惜，下次来一定要补上！
  反正这次住下来，真的感觉超出预期太多！不是那种冷冰冰的酒店，而是像在杭州有个贴心的 “小窝”，下次来杭州，绝对还选这里！
