Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally steps from the lake’s edge, but you’re also on one of Hangzhou’s most charming streets. Nanshan Road has this wonderful mix of traditional teahouses and modern cafes, and in the evening, locals come out for their walks along the water. You can grab breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant and then just wander outside to start exploring the lake’s famous causeways. No taxi rides, no planning — just walk out the door and you’re there. The convenience of this location cannot be overstated for travelers seeking authentic experiences.

The Room Experience

My room faced the lake (definitely request this if you can), and waking up to that view never got old during my stay. The rooms are spacious by Chinese standards, with clean lines and comfortable bedding that actually feels fresh. The bathroom was modern and well-equipped — everything worked perfectly and the water pressure was excellent. What I appreciated most was how quiet it stayed despite being on such a busy street; the windows do their job well. The furnishings blend contemporary comfort with subtle local design elements.

Exploring the Neighborhood

Being right in the Xihu district means you’re in the heart of everything that makes Hangzhou special. The famous Broken Bridge is maybe a ten-minute walk, and you can easily reach the Leifeng Pagoda on foot. Some of the best moments were just sitting by the lake in the early morning, watching the tai chi practitioners and the occasional traditional boat gliding by. There’s a small parking area if you’re driving, though most guests seem to arrive by taxi or the efficient local transit. The surrounding area offers endless opportunities for exploration and discovery.

It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it nails the fundamentals — great location, comfortable accommodations, and staff who genuinely seem to care about your experience.   西湖に面したホテルの敷地内庭園が素晴らしい。朝食も品数が豊富で味は最高でした。夕食も美味しい。

  Many things were good: the daily hospitality, cleanliness, treatment, and service.
  
  What could be improved: 1. I didn't like that I booked two suites with the same name and type, Suite Deluxe Boutique.
  But I was surprised that the spaces were different between them.
  2. There are no comfortable options in the restaurants.
  3. None of the hotel staff speaks English.
  4. I asked to extend the checkout time to 8:00 PM, and the amount was very exaggerated, about half the price of the full night
  5. My reservation on Booking.com included 2 adults and a 10-year-old child, and I was surprised that they did not provide an extra bed, and they asked me to pay an additional amount to provide a bed

  This is a government-supported guesthouse, known as "Bin Guan," where top Communist Party leaders stay when they visit Hangzhou. Naturally, the hotel offers the highest quality in both facilities and services. It is conveniently located next to West Lake (Xihu) and near Thunder Peak Pagoda (Leifeng).
  
  What could be improved: No real complaints about this hotel. One inconvenience is the walk between the hotel rooms and the breakfast restaurant. If you have mobility issues, this can be an inconvenience. On the other hand, if you like a morning walk, then this is a plus point. There are golf buggies available to ferry guests, the thing is that it gets really busy during breakfast hour.

  I had an amazing stay at XIZI Hotel. Chelsea is extremely friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to assist us. We needed to change rooms and had a lot of luggage. The bellboys were very hardworking and helped us move the luggage without any complaint. We are really grateful for their efforts.
  
  What's more, the hotel arranged a room in a style that our parents liked very much, which made our whole family satisfied. The garden in the hotel is large and very suitable for a stroll, providing a pleasant experience. The facilities in the room are brand new and well-equipped.
  
  Overall, I am very satisfied with my stay at XIZI Hotel. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and will choose to stay here again in the future.

  宾馆环抱西湖，景色优美，很多景点都在院内。宾馆历史悠久，随时都有穿越时空的感觉。宾馆还提供了古装旅拍服务，非常方便住店客人。但是最惊喜的是，笑玩旅拍的摄影师小武的专业摄影技术，我们全家四个大人三个孩子的化妆换装取景出片都在三个小时内完成。 一共出片169张，每张都是经典，我们全家打包全都留下。这次旅拍是我们这次旅行的亮点，让我们全家记忆深刻。
