The elevator ride up gives you a preview of what’s to come — and honestly, the views from this height are pretty spectacular. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard but gets the important stuff right, which I actually appreciate more than hotels that oversell themselves.

Location & Neighborhood

The Binjiang district isn’t Hangzhou’s most famous area, but that’s exactly what makes it work so well for travelers who want to experience the city without fighting tourist crowds every day. You’re right along the Qiantang River, and the morning walks here are genuinely peaceful — something you can’t say about many spots in a city this size. The Chao Shang Zhong Nan Ginza complex where the hotel sits has everything you need within walking distance, from decent restaurants to convenience stores that stay open late.

The Room Experience

My room faced the river, and I mean, you can’t really put a price on waking up to that view every morning. The space itself is modern without being sterile — they’ve managed to keep some warmth in the design, which isn’t always easy in newer Chinese hotels. The beds are actually comfortable (not just firm, which seems to be the default here), and the bathrooms are well-designed with good water pressure. You know what I noticed? The soundproofing is excellent, which matters when you’re on a busy road like Bin Sheng.

Dining & Amenities

The breakfast buffet leans heavily Asian, which honestly makes more sense than trying to do mediocre Western food. The congee station alone makes it worth getting up for, and they do a solid job with local Hangzhou specialties that you might not try otherwise. Free parking is available, which — if you’ve ever tried to park in Hangzhou — you’ll know is basically a small miracle. The staff seems genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and their English is better than you’d expect for this part of the city.

There’s something about this place that just works, especially if you’re traveling as a couple. Maybe it’s the combination of being slightly removed from the chaos while still being connected to everything, or the fact that the hotel feels like it was designed for actual comfort rather than just looking good in photos.   When I stayed in this hotel for the first time, I had a good sense of experience. The room is very large, the facilities are very new, there is a large bathtub in the room, and the geographical location is also OK.

  Vance Hotel, as a newly opened hotel that Chinese often go to, the quality of the bed in the room is very good, clean and tidy, the location service is proactive, the hotel is very characteristic and intelligent, and even a small degree in the room can be controlled. The floor aunt is also very warm, breakfast is very delicious, or have a try, next to the hotel is the Qiantang River, the shopping mall next to it is very good, it is easy to stroll, and the West Lake is only a few kilometers.   I am very satisfied with my stay. I upgraded our room and arranged it on the upper floor. The room orientation is better. After check-in, the room also sent fruit, whatever you need, it is very convenient, there are vehicles coming in and out for free, the feeling of staying in is good!
