The canal views are genuinely lovely, especially in the early morning when locals are doing their tai chi exercises along the waterfront. I found myself walking along the canal paths several times during my stay, and it’s one of those spots where you can actually see how locals live their daily lives. The three-star rating might sound modest, but the location alone punches well above its weight class — couples seem to really appreciate the romantic canal-side setting.

The Room Experience

My room was on the third floor with a partial canal view, and while it wasn’t huge, everything was thoughtfully arranged. The bed was surprisingly comfortable — I’m pretty picky about mattresses, but I slept well every night. The bathroom was compact but modern, with good water pressure in the shower (always a relief when traveling). What I appreciated most was how quiet it stayed despite being in a fairly busy district — the windows must have decent soundproofing because I barely heard any street noise.

Oh, and there’s free parking — which might not sound exciting, but if you’re driving around Hangzhou, you’ll quickly realize what a blessing that is.
